had my first outing last weekend (in my new faulty tent) and I noticed some tiny pin holes in the fly sheet, an area about the size of my hand with my be 1/2 dozen holes in total. Thankfully it did not rain so no problems, but I am away again this coming weekend so I would like to attempted a repair. Do you think a seam sealing product would do the job or just a general purpuse waterproofer?
As said the holes are only very small.
Thanks.
------------- As I've told my psychiatrist, you can't have too many tents.
If it is a polyester tent are they actually holes that water comes through, or are they imperfections in the fabric that were there before it was proofed? I would pour some water on the holes first, if they leak then a dab of seam sealer will do the job.
If its a canvas tent then they should seal themselves when fabric becomes wet & expands.
It's polyester material and thinking about it they are probably imperfections in the material, so as you say they may well not leak, but I was just thinking worst case senario.
I'll take some seam sealer with me, 'be prepared, dib dib dib'.

Yes a bit of remedial dib dib dibbing may be needed if they are holes.

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again
My Outwell Wolf Lake 7 had about 10 pin holes amongst other problems, I complained and received a new outer tent. The tent should be free of defects and under warranty.
------------- Camping is a bit like like fishing, you can never have enough equipment. The BT's won't bite but they just lick you and some...
So all in all quite a bargain for a little bit of work

I know this is now a problem solved, but for others reading or having the same problem.
I had a canvas tent with quite large holes caused by strain on the stitching, perhaps a millimeter or two in diameter. They never let in any water as the rain tends to bead due to surface tension.
The only time water would leak through is if a puddle formed in the area of the holes. Glad you got a bargain and solved the very minor problems.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
