Thanks for the help everybody. I'm using an iMac rather than an iPad so the set up is probably different. Have removed cookies and started again but i still can't get online to that one website. I'm not even that bothered about buying anything from them, but this has now become a bit of a mission to find out why this is happening.

The blue highlight goes across the address bar until the end of 'www.dpbolvw.net/click-1428744-10475506?url=http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk' then stops and nothing happens until I get an error message saying ' it cant connect because Safari cannot connect to the server.

I'll keep trying. Good job i've nothing else to do with the rest of my life !!!!!!!!!

Have you tried just typing www.dpbolvw.net/click-1428744-10475506?url=http://www.outdoormegastore.co.uk into the address bar, rather than using the link?

EDIT: this website has modified my URL by adding all the www.dpbolvw bit onto the front. Try from the second www to the end.

Have you cleared both "browser history" and "cookie & data"....? You will need to clear both from the browser...

Not sure what version of Safari or MAC OS you are running but a guide here to web history

If you have already done this I apologise....

Have the latest version of safari and running 'Mountain Lion'. Have cleared the history several times and reset safari which clears the cache and the cookies. I have clicked on links and typed the web address myself. still nothing. Might just kick the computer and see what happens

History, cache & cookies are all cleared at the same time (just double checking)…? Then turn off the system and reboot…?

 

You could try reloading the browser or try loading another browser like Google Chrome or Mozzila Firefox to see if you have the same problem.
