I can see Ingleborough (Yorksire Dales) & across Morecombe Bay, towards the Lake District, & all the fells are thick with snow & unlikely to thaw as it's so cold. snow flurries have been falling every day here for over a week now, so I assume it's falling & laying on the higher ground. On the plus side, the winds have dropped.. I only said yesterday that some who are carbon monoxide unaware, may well be tempted to pull the dying bbq into their tent for heat, fingers crossed we don't lose anymore lives so needlessly...

We're not..... but the site has!!
Just called to check the Site we booked into, near Shrewsbury, but all tents and caravans will be turned away... no facilities/frozen pipes etc, and ground very soggy.
As it was already "fully booked", when I initially called (The lady very kindly offered to put me on their lawn), as somebody else has said elsewhere, "It ain't good for the sites" either!
Right, off to find a snow-free area within a couple of hours of down town suburban Derby City UK..... and hope I can plonk a tent down..... as long as I can plug it in, aswell!!!!
After my research showed East Yorks as being snow free, and Friday fast approaching, there was only one thing for it.... Have just this minute confirmed availability, and therefore booking, of EHU pitch at Conifer Lake... and Muckerette is one happy bunny!!

Just wondering what the general road conditions are like up your way as were heading up to langdale in the lakes tomorrow . The site has confirmed the the roads are clear all the way from M6 but im wondering which is best way to go to get there . Weve got to cross the pennines at some point.

Camping in Salisbury C&CC as I type.
Apparently there had been a number of cancellations due to adverse weather conditions, and I believe mine is the only tent on the site at the mo.
The ground was quite soggy, however, apart from a dusting of snow when I arrived, the weather had been kind to me, cloudy, however, hardly any wind. Quite cold, it is quite pleasant.
Off to bed soon as I am knackered!
Happy Easter camping everyone!
