As our camping trip to Disneyland Paris drew closer, and the weather forecasts looked worst and worst, we took other posters advice, and we began stocking up on various things to keep us warm in the tent... even balaclavas :-) (can't believe that post is still running).
Anyway a few days ago the Wife really wasn't happy with the thought of two crying babies, and her sitting up all night breast feeding one of them in a cold tent. We found another campsite across the river to the one we'd booked where they had "holiday homes". It cost us another £120 on top of what we would've paid, so wasn't breaking the bank.
The next couple of days I checked the temperatures, and it was now showing highs of a balmy 11C, and I began to wonder whether we'd wasted our money.
Today I checked the forecast for Magny Le Hongre (closest place I can find to Jablines).. and for tomorrows forecast for when we arrive it's showing -3, feels like -7!! boy or boy are we both glad we changed our booking now.
Yes sure we face the unknown in terms of what condition the "caravan" will be in, but there's one review on this very website which was very positive, so we can only hope for the best... the main thing is we'll have 2" of insulated panels around us with electric heaters to keep us toasty.
I am genuinely disappointed that we're not going to get to try out our new Vango Airbeam tent, but it'll still get used in the summer.
Guessing now, the balaclava's will now have to be used for bedtime activities when we get back home... still not sure why I've got to leap out of the bathroom and take the missus unaware though? she does come up with some strange ideas
Happy Easter to all..
