Going camping tomorrow (cant wait!) - we've been getting the stuff ready all day as this is the first time we've been camping this year. We only started camping last year and I feel more organised (my husband typed up a camping checklist that we have been systematically crossing off - how sad are we!!)
However, we live in a flat and don't have an attic, garage or shed (well we have a small plastic job but isnt worthy of the label 'shed'). So we have to store our camping stuff in our bedroom (under the bed & behind the settee - yep its a big bedroom - thats the pay off!). We've moved it all down stairs for a quick get away and my bedroom looks massive!!!!! Made me realise how excessive my camping purchases got last year - I loved it so much but my bank balance nor my house can cope with any more 'essential' purchases! X
------------- Tired and weary - Ready for a get-away!!!
I would hate to open my bedroom door if someone visited me..as most of my tents/stuff/etc are in there..Most on a wooden rack but I still have to climb over a few things to get to the other side of the bedroom!!!
Have a leaky old lock up...With an ongoing mouse problem so don't leave much perishable stuff in there...
Have to carry everything down 5 flights of stairs when I go camping...Bit of a bind...but worth it to have the freedom to get away that camping affords....
Jelboy.
------------- Campers of the storm,Into this world are born
Use to have camping stuff all over the house but now just keeping the sleeping bags and camping mattress in the house. So I hear you say where is everything else? I bough a trailer with a lockable lid and keep all the camping gear packed in there ready to hook up and go. Saves so much time not having to cram everything into the car each time. The trailer just fits sideways across the back of the garage and car with 2cm to spare fits in front.
:D not only the camping gear - but also the luggage to go on the bike to carry the camping gear, which all has to live indoors.
I reckon if I moved the camping gear out of the house it would be an empty shell other than bed and chairs.
No garage, but the attic might need to be boarded out and shelved.
I'm in awe of you who manage to store camping gear in a flat with no 'elbowing out' room
------------- Still trying to get the packing right.
Ours is all in the trailer in the garage too...but in saying that we could never just hook up and go as there is so much other "essential junk" in there too really need to sort it out soon!
i just bought two storage racks from b&q spent all yesterday putting all the camping stuff neatly. wow i have alot of camping gear all i need now is may to hurry up .....
