probably the easiest permanent way, if you don't want to have to un-pick edging tape etc, is to buy a piece of strong cloth/nylon tape the length of the carpets you wish to join together...place the carpets side by side and face down on a flat surface, lay the tape along the underside of the join and then sew along the tape as close to the edge of both carpets as possible...failing that just use gaffer tape...

I was wondering the same thing, my plan was to sew velcro down the edge and 'sticking' them together! then I could separate them for packing but I was using picnic rugs not proper tent carpet. There are some lovely patterns and cheaper than the branded carpet! plus they no longer make a carpet for my tent!

like to ideal of velcro ... never thought of that way.
I had matching picnic rugs but never sewed them together, they were fine just overlapping on the floor, but if youre going to sew them together velcro seems best. May make middle edge bit thick?
Hi. I have the thing with my tent carpet. we have a Kali 10 and only use one side for the bedroom. we have 2 carpets for it and over lap them to cover the reminder of the tent. I going to u some of the sticky backed valcro and put a few along the over lap bit just to keep everything in place.

Hi vw man I unpicked the edging on our carpets then stitched them together with a straight stitch with my sewing machine. The back of carpets I stuck with carpet tape, then just stitched the edging back around. They look good, well they have passed the OH inspection, we now have a large tent carpet in light blue & green squares.
