Just got back from a week's camping in Clitheroe.........it was FAB, the night's were a bit chilly, but with heaters, an electric blanket and lots of layers we were sooooo snug. Woke up to birdsong and blue skies each morning....you just cant beat it :)

------------- Tired and weary - Ready for a get-away!!!
All this talk of camping over Easter has made me a tad envious to say the least, but 4weeks on Sat and we will be off for 2 weeks in Devon......we can't wait :)
the campsite is called Edisford Bridge. Its just on the outskirts of Clitheroe. There is a great pub (with a cheese pie thats just to die for!!!!!) about 10 mins walk max. Weve been a couple of times and it has never disappointed. Showers are warm, loo's are clean and staff are friendly and helpful. Hope this helps

Although it was bitterly cold and quite windy, it remained dry and sunny at times over Easter, I enjoyed myself and had a great time.
Best of all, the sun was shining and the wind helped to dry out the tent so that I had a dry pack up on the last day!

Thanks, We only live about 25 miles away from Clitheroe may be ok when we want a weekend away.
Did my first camp in 40 years last week at Seaview Benderloch north of Oban. It was cold at night (-5C) no heating, however had a wonderful time. Cloudless sky at night, never seen so many stars, so glad I went. Couple of pics on profile page. Long live camping indeed. Wrote a review on this great campsite, should be passed for viewing soon.
Welcome back to camping Norman-Nomad. We didn't start this great way of life until a few years ago at 57 yrs, wished we'd tried it years ago, but never fancied it. Now enjoy grandchildren and the tent
Oban sounds great.Always rains for me.
To Fleece-ahoy, we went last year with no heating and ,at night -5, never again. I was so cold I could have cried. Hats gloves, and layers upon layers for bed. just bit too cold for me . Glad you had great time
