I remember someone saying to me when we first started camping that even in summer it still gets cold during the night. We only camp from the end of may to the beginning of september and we have campbeds with airbeds on top, which I find warmer than airbeds on the ground, which we did first, our bed set up goes campbed, rubberised airbed, blanket, sheet and then sleeping bag which i used open and tucked under the airbed rather than zipped up and then a fleece blanket on top. I don't wear really thick pyjamas, I wear standard strappy ones as I find my body heat keeps me warmer like that, if I wake up cold I just slip a sweatshirt or cardigan on on top. I think the most important thing for me is not going to bed cold, so I take a hot water bottle, or, I warm the bed up with a hairdryer before I get in, aslong as i'm warm I can fall asleep. Socks are good on particularly cold nights too.

I have tried leaving my heater on, but I always get in bed and then can't get to sleep as I worry about leaving it turned on!
