Hi, after a few years away from camping I have purchased a Sunncamp Shadow 600 DL. I have been reading through the posts on here to get me back up to speed and have stumbled on a few bargains as a result so thanks to those people for sharing those links. My reason for returning to camping is as follows, my hobby is flying radio controlled planes and our club has an annual airshowLongmarston Airshow. I am only a few miles from our club so normally just drive there on each day, this year I have decided to make a weekend of it and enjoy a beer or two. Also my wife and I attend a motorcycle rally in Devon in June and have previously borrowed a tent but now we will have our own. Having spent a considerable sum of money in kitting out the tent I have told SHMBO that we'll have to have a few weekends away in it as well to make the purchase worth while and amazingly she has agreed. . So I am now trawling through the site reviews to find some sites to visit.. I'll post some pics of the tent set up after next weekend, hopefully with the sun shining.
Welcome back to camping and hope you have a great time in your new tent. What have you got for the two of you.?
We all love seeing others tents and how they set them up so can't wait to see you pics. All the best and welcome to UK Camp site.

Everything has been said before, but since nobody ever listens we have to keep going back and saying it all over again and again and again

I'm assuming your not planning on slinging it onto the back of a bike? :o
I don't think it'll fit on the bike somehow, we've got to get it down to Devon to one of my wife's relatives and they'll take it to the campsite for us. I have thought about getting a bike trailer and fitting some storage boxes onto it to carry the camping gear, we could then have the bike with us when we visit all these lovely sites I keep reading about.
So far I've bought a Coleman carpet for the living area( one of the bargains I've found through reading through the posts on here) two Vango Dormir comfort sleeping bags( another bargain at £14 each from Field & Trek) a kitchen stand from eBay, a couple of hi gear Vermont folding chairs, just sorting out some camp beds and sims at the moment plus various bits and pieces from Lidl/poundland. We're off to Jacksons of Arley( where we bought the tent from) tomorrow to see what else we can spend my hard earned money on
Hi all, well the weekend went ok despite 40mph winds, once we managed to get the tent up it coped well with the wind. Had a very comfy nights sleep on my SIM on top of a camp bed. Unfortunately I was so busy at our Airshow I forgot to take any pics We are away again in a few weeks at the bike rally so promise to get lots of pics then. On the plus side our Airshow went really well despite the weathers attempts to ruin it and we had about 250 campers for the weekend who hopefully enjoyed it. Looking forward to a few weekends away soon if the weather plays ball
