well i have finally given up with the caravan and have sold it !! fed up of towing, the cost of fuel, the rising costs of site fees, insurance, storage, etc, so its gone , and now the dilema starts ?? which tent ?? just me and the missus and 3 dogs, narrowed it down to 3 tents we want plenty of room , in case any grand kids come with us , we prefer 1 with the side extension ( for a loo ) so the 3 are in order 1, kampa filey 6, the outwell montana 6, and the royal athens 4 or 6 ?? decisions descisions ?? lol .
oh i need to be able to put it by myself ( sometimes ) , so what do you reckon ?? oh and can someone please explain the pro's and cons of the 2 different materials, ( cotton and nylon /polyester ?/ ) . me i cant wait to get out there , the wife not so sure

Hi
Decisions decisions decisions
Polycotton pros, less condensation as fabric is breathable, warmer in low temps cooler in hot, less noisey in the wind, material longer lasting.
Cons, heavier, bulkier, and more expensive.
I have 3 kampa tents, which makes me a bit biased, but the quality is very good equal to any other leading brand but little things put it slightly behind Outwell but then you are not paying Outwell prices. I have the polycotton version of the filey 6 and its a lot of tent and the built in canopy is a real bonus especially as there is a vestibule to enclose it. Only downside is it is discontinued for 2013
If you fancy an Outwell Vermont instead of the Montana and dont mind a bit of writing on it then Cross Camping have some brand new promo Vermont L at a bargain price and there is a video on their website so might be worth a look, no extension but a built in wardrobe which can be used for a loo. Sold our Montana in 2007 to buy a Vermont because it had the enclosed front porch and nothing has gone wrong with it in that time
The Vermont, Filey and Montana can be pitched by 1 person as I do it myself using the Cross Camping method

cheers arsenaldes, have seen the cross camping vid on youtube , they make it look so easy ?? lol , and campernic , i would love the air beam ones , but funds dictate otherwise , as i have sold my van i also need a new front door on the house , or i would be making that purchase on the vango airbeam.
