SeanMatthews, Completely agree with you, the biggest danger times in strong winds is erecting and dismantling.

R0bert, as you’re not bothered whether the tent gets damaged or not then you have less to worry about. Hope you have great trip and all goes well (and the tent doesn’t get damaged!!).

Bit of an update to this!

The wind looked to have died down a bit on the friday so we threw caution to the wind (no pun intended) and took the voyager 6.

Mayhem ensued, the tent ended up doing a barrel roll in the wind with the gf inside it whilst setting up lol. Luckily no damage was caused to the tent but we did end up going home about 20 minutes after checking in.

We returned on the saturday night with the argos tent (although in hindsight I should have just made room for both tents on the friday!).

We still found it a bit of a pain in the bum to put the argos special up but it was a lot more manageable than the Hi-Gear due to it being smaller.

I double pegged all the guy ropes and made sure they were all tightened up, parked the car down wind of the tent and although it was blowing a hoolie the tent stood up ok other than one or two drips from the fly sheet when it started lashing down.

Fingers crossed for no wind during the spring half term now :D
