Never used this before how would you lot use it? Roller? paint it on? put it in a spray container and spray it on? Also Tenacious tape is it easy to use? I have a Hartford XL and it is starting to leak on the seams over one of the bed pods and I have never used this either. You know I have been camping all my life and I`ve never waterproofed a tent yet
I used a garden sprayer to apply and then wiped over the area with a cloth.
Tenacious tape is simple to use just like parcel tape. Best tip is to round off corners so there is no corner to lift. Appears to last for ever as a quick repair, I've used it a couple of times and never had to re do the job again.
For leaking seams, use seam sealer
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
I once Fabsil'd the outside of a Coleman Da Gama 6 tent but that was only because it was an ex display model. It took 3 x 600ml spray cans at about £7.99 a can. It was worth it though and made it look like new again.
I like the idea of buying it in bulk and putting it into a garden sprayer as that sounds much easier. If you spray the stuff though, wear a face mask. I felt ill for a couple of days afterwards...think I waterproofed my lungs!
Leaking seams should be done on the inside with seam sealer which is like a clear glue and dries into a 'rubbery' seal. It shouldn't need Tenacious Tape as well which is extremely expensive stuff considering the small amount you get on a reel. Make sure the seam sealer is completely dry before packing your tent away otherwise it will stick to any part of the tent that touches it.
I got my fabsil from fleabay...bargain price of 15 quid for 2.5 litres. I painted it on rather than sprayed.
Whichever way you do, remember to protect any surrounding grass.
just had to use tenacious tape for a couple of repairs to our sig. seems to have worked great. although my hubby not being the brightest spark bless him, decided it was best to put the tent up then fix the tear on the underside of the sig.... queue two feet poking out of the underside of the tent and a lot of swearing.... thatll teach him haha
we used the solar proof on the tent last time we went as had random patches of lack of beading water off, through tree sap, bird poo and children cleaning' the tent with used sponges. Seems to have worked :) - although some of the window seams are slightly leaking in the porch so looks like a purchase of sea sealer is next on the list...

Just used a full tube of seam sealer on my three man dome tent that`s been leaking like a sieve. Going to try it out Bank holiday weekend but I will take plenty of black sack to put my stuff in just in case.
