Have most folks on here read about the girl guides in Grimsby getting their tents stolen?
It's really sad to read about it and their camping trips being cancelled.
For many of them it may be their 1st introduction to camping and be the future of the game that carries it on into future generations and eventually take their own children camping.
For all of you reading this ... Are any of you like me?
Iv got a collection of tents and I certainly have one of my 1st tents that I haven't used for a long time and really can't see me using it again. But it's in perfect condition and far too good to throw away.
I'd be very happy to donate it to those girl guides and if i could get maybe 20 or 30 others from here to all do the same perhaps the guides could go camping this summer.
My tent I'd donate could sleep 3 - it's a little Lichfield green tent with 2 poles and sewn in groundsheet.
It probably wouldn't even make £10 on eBay so I'd be happy to donate.
Anyone else?

Okies I'm thinking if we leave this thread running for a few days and see how many offers we can get?
I'd be happy to contact the local paper that published the article and see if with their help and maybe an appeal to local radio, we can somehow get these tents to the girls so they can at least have some kind of camping trip this summer!
It's got to be worth a try at least?

I'm going through all my gear and think i have a couple of dome tents I can part with.
I do hope they manage to trace the scum who stole the gear and hopefully find some of the bits. Keep an eye on ebay I guess, see if they silly enough to try and sell on there...

great idea im sure they would be more than happy to help
We have a little Vango Alpha 300 we could donate. Supposed to sleep 3 but takes a double airbed comfortably & has a small porch area. Some staining to the flysheet from being stored but it's only ever been used for a week & stood up well to 3 days of constant downpours while others had to pack up & go home.
We would gladly donate our gazebo has I read they were stolen too
We don't have a spare tent or maybe buy a hi gear pitch and go to donate
Buy it online collect from store which would be the nearest to the guides group
