Hi, is this a really silly question? I am getting older & creakier and would love a raised height air bed but funds are limited so... I already have two air debs of the same make - could I put one on top of the other & secure with tapes ( I have a old sleeping bag plus sheet on top )??

Has anyone else tried this idea and had success (or failure?)

Your advice would be appreciated!

Ps reason funds are limited is because I bought a Kampa Cromer 8 on Sunday - so now have a bed pod to myself and thus have more room for a raised bed!

Thanks

Born again Camper Cal

Hi, we do this regularly, they tend to move about a bit. Never tried taping them together though.

tried it without securing the two together and was sliding all over the place, but i'm sure a few well placed bands of inch wide elastic could hold the two airbeds together as one...

Tried and is fine it is great as you are at a good height for getting on and off. Haven't had any problems with it slipping although our are both flock airbeds, we don't use tapes either.

Works Ok but just put a cheap fleece banket between the beds. This will stop the sliding.

Cheers

Bert.

Hi cal72 Get yourself the anti slip rubber sheets they put under rugs on laminate flooring its cheap and usually on a roll so just get as much as you need. I think it would be your best option. Geoff

We're going away for the BH weekend, my wife will be 25 weeks pregnant.

Think I may have to give this a go as it will help her getting in and out of bed at least.

Yes, we use to do this and found it so much easier getting off in the morning with it being a lot higher than one airbed.

Well I had a trial run in the living room! Two double airbeds (flocked on one side), put fleecy blanket between them as per Bertie21 suggestion. I also bought 10m of inch wide cotton tape (10p per metre from local haberdashery shop) and cut in half, thus making two tapes which I used to tie round the airbeds to keep them together. Topped with opened out sleeping bag & fitted sheet. Worked a treat (even with kids playing about the airbed sandwich stayed together!) so will definitely use this method when we go away.

Mitch b - thanks but need a double but it was this that gave me the idea but I couldn't locate a double version!

We used to do this before we got an aero bed, only night it went wrong was when top one must have been slightly off centre, hubby got out in middle of night, I was on edge of bed, top air bed tipped up and I rolled across the floor in my sleeping bag.... Blooming hilarious I don't know how I didn't wake whole campsite up as we were both laughing hysterically
