Hi, went camping in the New Forest last night, no EHU, so first time in 6 months not using my CPAP, I found it really difficult to sleep without it and luckily site was quiet so no neighbours to upset with my snoring!! Was thinking about looking for battery/portable device, only ones I have seen are really expensive.
Does anyone else have this problem? How do you get round it? Any longer trip we use EHU, but yesterday was last minute 1 night in a tent we bought from Tesco for £10, had such a great time, want to be able to do it agin!
I have a friend who uses a leisure battery for her CPAP, she charges it at home. She only goes for weekends, so I don't know if the battery would last longer than 2 nights.

Hi Shelley, have you asked your local respiratory specialist nurses if they have equipment that they can loan for holidays? Also try contacting the British Lung Foundation, they might provide portable units for hire. There is likely to be a Breathe easy group near to you who could help.
Whippet lover CPAP stands for continuous positive airway pressure. It's basically a special mask and external ventilation system which keeps the airways open at the end of each breath to aid breathing in certain lung conditions.
i have to use a cpap not for a lung condition , but for sleep apnea ( for those who dont know is ) i am prone to stop breathing in my sleep , but i have always gone ehu so have no problem did'nt know u could get battery 1's , i am due my reveiw next week so will ask the question .

I would suggest using a leisure battery and inverter. It seems cpap machines are quite low drain devices. Run it at a lower pressure and you should get a week out of 50% of a decent leisure battery.
