My spare bedroom has been the glory hole for a long time owing to leaking shed. It now contains, amongst vast crates of Lego, the freezer, tallboy with all the tools in it, one Caranex with free-standing kit; one Royal viz-a-viz; one Outwell Jersey S; two Outwell Fusion 3 pop-ups; an Outwell Phoenix and a Kairos 400.

Sadly, with family ill health, I'm needing to do some clearance to allow for an overnight nurse to come in when needed. The Royal and Jersey S can be given away but what do I keep? Outwell fusion okay (not good on back) but still can't pack it away properly - one of them brand new, not used. Phoenix in good nick and it higher than Fusion. Caranex good but not brilliant in wind and Kairos only used twice. Latter two much better for ageing bones!!

Currently camping is only feasible for weekends, max 2/3 nights - no idea when that will change. My son also occasionally uses the Fusion but he gets less chance to camp than I.

Don't particularly want to part with any of them but must so wondered if any of you so much more familiar with the market place had any thoughts to help decide?

There are two other issues. I don't use eBay - very hard time getting money back due eBay mistakes long time ago. I live on a Scottish island and the charges are horrendous for selling - even for package companies that seem to be reasonable elsewhere or they won't accept something of the dimensions of the Fusion. I've got some truly honest mainland friends and they're willing to help out but that can only happen when I'm going to meet up with them.

Genuinely need advice; I just don't have the time        to do loads of research and can't afford to lose loads of money especially as I also have to contribute to a disabled suitable wetroom as well.

Thank you.

Things must be very difficult for you - hard decisions to make. It sounds like it'd be a big help if you could get the shed fixed to give you more space indoors; if not, if you seal up the Lego crates in bin bags or similar, couldn't they go in there even if it was leaking? They should be fine as long as the wet's kept off them. Good luck with it all.

Sorry if you have already thought of this. Would someone you know be happy to store your tents/camping things in a garage/under bed/loft for you?
It seems a shame to have to get rid of a lot of things you've collected over the years.
Hope you find a solution xxxhugsxxx

Is it not possible to use your own loft to store these things?

The other option would be to get a local DIY man to make you a basic bed base box out of plywoood, which are really cavernous for storage, and stick a mattress ontop of that for the Nurse to sleep on, far cheaper too than having to buy a single bed, and if you buy some foam block for a mattress, you can make it to exactly the size you need.

Thanks for advice; have been trying out the loft (someone else's as mine has been converted) idea - why does everyone I know have as much if not more clutter than !?

Potential progress on lego crates (son won't sell!!) - they can go in my wee shed (6' by 4') - and have donated Jersey S and Royal locally - Royal was used for garden camp by new owner and turned out to be waterproof!! Amazed!!

As for big shed - size of single garage - it's going to cost near on £3000 to replace with one similar size (and, yes, that size is needed). It's currently being propped up by various trees and pit props!! Snag to getting that done is cost excluding grant to get wet room installed in Mum's bathroom, which is essential. Can't afford to do both.

Researched other "dry" storage - all metal containers and not suitable (nor cheap)! Son has agreed to sell Fusion 300 - the unused one - but no luck as yet finding suitable carrier so daren't advertise until I do. But that's one step in right direction, anyway.

So let me get this straight....
The shed is knackered, so all the "junk" is in the spare room? But you need to clear the spare room to accommodate the nurse overnight?
Yet, in that very room that needs clearing, are a number of tents? Perfectly sound and usable tents, that can be used for overnight sleeping?

No.... she wouldn't......... Would she?*

*I use the term "she" as I am a sexist pig, and couldn't be ar5ed to type out "she/he/australian, etc."

Nathan good idea - will keep an eye out!

Mucker - made me laugh! Aside from obviously not being within call though I really can't see the nurse being happy about sharing the garden with two red deer stags! I'd hoped they'd be off up the hill by now but the original bambi has persuaded a friend to stay!!

Well it did occur to me at the beginning that you might erect a tent in the garden and store all the rest of the stuff in it? We did this when we emptied the loft, however it was only for a week or two.
