Alas, I could just about put the Tigris 400 up on my own when I bought it - but time has passed, my elbow is worse than it was then, and it's just too much like hard work now. Pitching it in my daughter's garden this weekend proved that. I had intended daughter and family to have the use of it, but now I've given it to them. They didn't have a tent and are keen to start camping with the two little boys (nearly 3 and 6 months) - they've enjoyed its company over the weekend.
I've been looking at alternatives, but finding a tent I can stand up in (I'm 5'2") and put up alone is a challenge! The only one I've found so far that looks possible is the Outwell Arizona L dome tent, which has 6' headroom - luxury! - fibreglass poles, not steel. It costs a bit more than I'd want to spend, but I realise options are limited. There are masses of tents out there, but finding one with height and ease of solo pitching is difficult.
I'd like to pick your knowledgeable ukcs brains please... does anyone know of a tent with sufficient headroom and fibreglass poles (the weight of the steel ones was part of the problem) that might fit the bill, costing less than £150? One that will keep the rain out, and not blow over in a bit of a breeze? Seems it'd need to be a 3 man or 4 man, to get any chance of the height. Hope you can give me some pointers.
