Hopefully this is the right place for some newbie advise? Have aquired a vango amazon 800. I absolutely adore this tent. It took OH an hour to get me out of it when we practice pitched it!!! He was not a happy bunny. Any how...... My question is simples.... Do I need to ReProofing the tent.
It was second hand but looks resonably cared for. Currently having a panel repair done by TVS as Sasquatch (me) managed to damage it on practice pitch :( but that's a different story!

Should I be ReProofing it or just winging it?

If I should do ReProofing how should it be done (inside or outside) ? Spray or paint on? Recommended product to preserve this amazing tent for as long as I possibly can?

Ps OH was not impressed when I said we could sell the house and live quite comfortably in this tent !!!

As you can garden pitch, I would suggest leaving it pitched in the rain, and see what happens. If it does not, leak, then it won't require re proofing.

Hi I beleive this is a polyester tent, so would have beeen proofed by maker on the inside,
a test as said above it the best way to see. may be the seams will need some treatment but the main fabric should ber ok if not brittle and crackly...

If it leaks reproof and seam seal it

If not, leave it well alone

Reproofing - use a spray (small garden one or pressure fence sprayer type) on the outside only
