Clingons? Hi folks I have seen many mentions of these things in posts, but the only ones I know were in Doctor Who! What are they? and what/how are they used?

We saw them recommended on here and got some off ebay last year, used ours with elastic luggage type bungees to make some extra securing points for our tent extension. Bought some more this year, not sure what i'll use them for but I'm sure they'll come in 17

I'd say, go for the large....
Our friend Rob does them at Delta (scroll down the page).

PS...
I'd never heard of Clingons, Klingons, or indeed, Star Trek, until I joined ukcs, and refute any accusations inferring otherwise. My lawyers are watching !!!

It is a running joke about cling on's and Klingons from Star Trek. Good to see no one has started posting in Klingon yet!

Why thanks, Pewacker! :-)

Actually, there's two tents there. The first two pics are the Filey 6 Classic, which is just divine!! Trouble is, she's a bit of a brute just for two nights, and unfortunately, most of our camping is, has been, and is likely to remain, just that.
Looks like a 3 nighter for her in the Peaks next month (Depending on rain forecast!), then my plan is to treat her to 12 nights t'other side of t' channel in September.... which she's getting rather excited about!!   :-)

The last pic is the front sloping door of the Frinton 4 Classic, which we use for the bulk of our (weekend) trips. The wind was howling, and it's one of those doors which rely on a central tab of velcro only, across the bottom of the door. Can't deny there was a bit of a draught, and as we don't use this door (the side door canopy is excellent!!), I just closed it up! Am tempted to see if Muckerette fancies adding some press studs or something similar, as the same problem will likely re-occur, seeing as we intend to continue through the winter.

They each have their job to do, and in all honesty, they do them rather well, and we are absolutely delighted with both of them.
I'd definitely recommend them..... if there are any left!!!

I tried both sizes, not a great deal between them. Great item though.

Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
