Hi, First post for a long time. We have finally succumbed to taking 2 cars now when we go camping (until I get my next company car WITH tow bar next time ) So suddenly we have space to take something a bit more substantial than our usual fold-flat BBQ and I am looking for some recommendations. We've seen people with the gas Cadac's which seem to be really versatile. But on the downside I think we would need a different gas bottle to our current campingaz.
And I actually like the ceremony of charcoal (and to burn a few twigs / cracklelogs where permitted) We could also fit in a Weber, or similar now, but not sure what size / model. Then there's the Hibachi type which seem to have a few nice touches. We are a family of 4 so need something that will cook a few things at once. The OH doesn't really do burgers and sausage which usually means cooking fish in foil, skewers etc. Does anyone have any strong recommendations. Something that you've used time and again and never fails you? Other considerations are flexible cooking height (if charcoal) ease of cleaning, build quality and budget of say - £150 max (but less if we go charcoal) All thoughts very welcome as I want to get this decision right
