We have a rip in our tent windonw. Has not let rain in and it is a striaght line cut. The perfect cut you might say. Iv just put a bit of tape on for now but need to fix it. Should I use a glue. I have a glue that is for this type of thing or should I use a clear tape or a tape.
The clear tape would be best for a quick repair. If you want to do a permanent fix, these people sell the window PVC in two different grades. I used the thicker grade to replace the window in our Combicamp awning last year - it's not difficult to sew, but you need to put a piece of scrap paper between the PVC and your table to stop the PVC from dragging instead of running through the sewing machine smoothly.
I've used tenacious tape many times both on plastic and canvas and find it outlives the article I'm repairing. Expensive - yes, worth it - definetly. Keep some in your kit for emergencies.
Had a rip in the window of my Icarus 500 last year on holiday...I cut a square from the clear plastic sleeves that vango poles come in...Put a few dabs of super glue on it and pressed it over the rip...Did the job...Haven't had the Icarus up since so don't know if its still fixed or not.

You can get All-Weather clear plastic tape from Wickes for about £4. I've used it on a 1 inch rip in our awning window and 2 years later it is still fine, with no leakage.
We have a rip in the window in the door of our Corvus. It's been a right pain because it is right at the end along the zip seam. We've tried tenacious tape which did a good temporary job but because there is alot of tension it still keeps pulling apart. We're okay if we use the extension, but could have a problem without it - any ideas for this please?

For the rip along the seam I'd use duct tape on both sides, plus some creative stitching with a wedge pointed needle and strong cotton buttonholing thread. It will inevitably look like crap but it will hold.
For a split in the window, tenacious tape on both sides. I like the idea of cutting up a piece of Vango packaging though, that's a repair after my own heart!

Maybe take it to the repair place on Leads Road in Hull, they've repaired our canvas tent and did a fab job and were reasonably priced too, can't recommend them highly enough.

Thanks for that Alice, I didn't even know they were there!
