Having bought a used Eldorado off Ebay, I attempted to pitch it yesterday.
Long story short, I failed. Badly. I didn't attach the top of the doorframe, hence one of the poles holding up the door popped the eyelet straight through the canvas. See photos.
I'm absolutely gutted so assistance and advice as to how and where to get this repaired would be most appreciated. I live in north London. And yes feel free to comment on my witlessness as long as it's followed by some constructive advice :-)
Sorry to hear about the mishap, I hope you can get it patched soon.

Best thing to do is google search for tent repaires or sail makers within your area
Call in or email for quotes giving as much detail pics ect, as possible if you don't want to carry it with you
you can also ask to see past/present work for peace of mind on quality of repairs.
Do you have any spare canvas in the same colour? e.g.Canvas bag that you could easily use without the need for new canvas as shades will differ
The time frame for repair is a good question to ask especially if you have camps booked.
also with cost take into account possible courier charges if you are unable to drop off/collect
I'm sure you will be back under canvas before too long
good luck

I've just had my outwell Vermont xlp repaired by a company called LSR. They are in burnley Lancashire which I no is a good distance from you but thought I would give you the option of either a courier or ruling them out . I tried to pitch in a gale and ended with a 3 foot rip in the fabric and one of the peg points was ripped out, this tent was brand new and to say I was gutted is an understatement . Dropped it off and paid an extra £15 for a 48 hr turnaround , they phoned 6 hrs later to say it was ready and on our next camping trip we put it up and saw the repair. I can only say it was amazing and you would never notice it , fantastic service and a superb fix which I never thought possible, maybe worth trying if you are stuck?
Thanks all - I've emailed LSR yesterday and I'm waiting to hear from them.
I've been in touch with fixyourtent.com and they've quoted me £87 plus £25 shipping. It's just not worthit, tent was £120 second hand. Looks like it's gonna have to be a DIY bodge job with Tear Aid Tape.
Try Attwools Near Gloucester. Here
They make canvas tents/marquee's and do repairs. Not exactly close to you but might be worth an email. I have found them to be very helpful and cheap.
I also have a Eldorado, so I feel your pain.

If you are able to do the repair yourself or know someone that can, you can buy tent canvas from http://www.profabrics.co.uk/shop/show_product_info.php?id=T7-16
And you can get an eyelet kit from most camping shops.
Looking at the photos you would need to use a few of layers of fabric and sew this over the damaged area. Would probably be easier to do by hand rather than machine.
Hope you get it sorted.
Get a machinist to stitch on a few layers from the tent bag. Strength is the most. Important thing, could even place the pole cap underneath for support. As the top of the pole keeps that area high it is unlikely to leak at all if cotton filled thread is used. Good luck from a fellow Eldorado user.
