that's a shame we priced matched a footprint and carpet for our monty but the prices we had elsewhere weren't the same year as the ones being sold in Go, but they did find a cheaper on the internet and matched those so still saved some cash

THEY found a deal for you, then PM'd it?
Now that's impressive customer service, if you ask me!

yep Swansea Go. Their manager Gareth will be getting an excellent letter from us.
The better price we found didn't say 2013 so they found others that did and were better deals than their prices.
I can't complain with GO's price match. I got the new 2013 Wolf Lake 7, footprint and carpet for £995 delivered with their price match plus discount......their in store price for those items came to something just short of £1800......incredible, but very very happy. That was with their online sales team, they were very helpful.
After being messed about by Go over a tent purchase, and the order not being delivered- for a tent, footprint and carpet to arrive out of the blue last week, and my credit card debited for an order which was 6 weeks late, not required, we have good news.
We wanted the side extension for our vermont XLP which was over £400 , but a price match, and a gesture of good will for the tent delivery etc, we purchased our extension for £229 from Go.
Yes price match and take the email showing which company you are matching against.
Will GO price match on items for sale on ebay? I recently bought 2 outwell sleeping bags from GO but I could of got them cheaper from a company selling on ebay.
I wanted to see before I bought, and as I was really impressed and needed a discount card anyway so we bought them there and then.
Don't quote me on this, but most shops on Ebay also have their own on line shop/website. Check on there for the same deal, then use that as your bargaining tool. That would be a definite yes.
Not sure about a link to Ebay itself..... I'd doubt it!

Go Outdoors will not price match against auction sites (eBay) but as Mucker mentioned see if the seller has their own website. Some camping retailers do have an ebay presence as well as their own website which you can price match against.
Mucker is completely right, request a price match by calling the main telesales number (they are very helpful). If you are successful ask them to email the price match which is then valid for seven days which can be used in store or online. Regardless of what happens to the price, the price match is still valid. You can email them but the response can be a bit slow and the offer from the other retailer may end meaning you will not get a price match.
One other tip...remember a price match is valid for seven days after a purchase. If you do spot the product cheaper AFTER you have made a purchase they will refund the difference.
Price match T&Cs: valid retailers
Price Guarantee is applicable against any competitor to GO Outdoors in the mainland UK, including any UK websites but excluding auction sites, market stalls, private sales, liquidation sales, our own stores, gooutdoors.co.uk or any typographical errors.
Yep, the way Mucker suggests is definitely the way to do it!
As far as I understood GO won't price match on eBay, but they should honour the price if you go direct to the retailers website and everything is 'like for like'.
