I too have not come across a C&CC site where the rules with regard to ball games and noise are not observed.
I would be inclined to file a complaint for lack of action and discretion on the part of the site manager/assistance to deal with complaints.

Last year at West Runton Club site the wardens were always ready to help - and were doing a sterling job despite a rowdy group of 8-10 year olds who kept trashing the Ladies loos (pulling toilet rolls off their holders, turning on all the basin taps etc. The wardens eventually started manning the loos to put a stop to this low level vandalism - and had it sorted within 2 days by frog marching kids caught red handed back to their tents and shamed in front of parents
You see this is where i get annoyed with the C&CC and have stopped being a member after 15 years , the warden should have told the Parents to pack up there and then and leave ,as they were not bothered what the little angels were doing ,this would then serve notice to others who think it is allright to absolve responsibility of there kids once they hit the site, as for the wardens in the origanal message letting the campers know who had complained about them ,i would be having very strong words with the wardens
I really feel for you. You definitely should complain to the club about the behaviour that was allowed to continue and the way the warden(s) handled it (or not) as well. If there are rules in place, the wardens should have the b***s to enforce them. If not, they shouldn't be in the job.
Thank you..
i have rang today to cancel my standing order for membership which they did without asking why!! So i told them!! they also wanted the money back i had saved by becoming a member!! when i told them to poke it they then passed me over to the customer services department.. they were too busy to talk to me, i left a message and i am currently waiting for a phone call back!! (message left at 10am) marvelous customer service!! i also mentioned this post.... so hopefully i will have more to report soon!!
saz5178 - So really you have not got any satisfaction either on site or from CC&C customer services.
Not good is it ?
To be honest I wouldn't leave it at that - I would have gone further with the wardens on site and once home I would INSIST on some acknowledgement and redress from the club.
Remember the CC&C is a club run for the benefit of its members (us). Those members are entitled to be listened to and taken notice of.
Even if you have cancelled your membership I would write the very stiffest of emails and address it to the chairman (name in every club magazine) pointing out that you were not able to speak to anyone when you phoned to complain. State every detail of what happened on your visit - leave nothing out even if it runs to several pages but don't exagerate either or be in any way judgemental even about the wardens, just state the facts and explain how disappointed you are particularly with respect to the club's hitherto excellent reputation for ensuring members enjoy their well earned breaks with them.
Then ask for a refund of your fees for that stay and see how they respond.
For future reference it would do no harm to take the names of the wardens on any site although this info can usually be found in the club sites book.
Good idea to mention your posting on here - go one further and quote some of our replies to your post when you contact the chairman.
So sorry to hear of your poor experience with the CC&C, as I mentioned earlier we have always enjoyed our visits to their club sites and it's disconcerting to hear of poor behaviour from campers and substandard actions by wardens - hope this is a one off.
We hardly ever use CCC sites and we have never had a problem like this, but then we also avoid nightmare sites like Shell Island. I sometimes think that actually the large commercial 'family' sites are worse. Not always, but I genuinely think that at lot of the time CCC gives people a false sense of security.
It's horrible for people to have their holiday ruined. That said I don't ever want to go to a site with wardens walking around with torches at night making sure the curfew adhered too. That sounds very opressive, but someone should always be available if there are problems.
IMO The biggest issue for the OP is not the noise itself but the crazy wardens telling people who complained (if that is the case). That's just horrible and potentially risky. Unfortunately I think you will have a very hard time proving they did, but still complain anyway.
