I defiantly did not mean by my post that i think all new campers where from hell
We where all new once. We have meet many new campers that where very nice. If 1 in a 100 campers are from hell then as the number of campers goes up so dose the number of campers from hell but there is still 1 in a 100 (hope that makes since)
Imo Also with lots more campers its not good for anyone prices of kit and sites are rising as they all cash in on campings new popularly

I do think a lot of this is down to campsite owners / wardens policing their campsites. Camping too close is illegal and what is the point of having rules about keeping quiet after a certain time if they don't enforce it. You shouldn't have to complain, they should be wandering around keeping an eye on things. We've all noticed the increasing fees at some campsites, surely some of this should be spent on increased presence at the campsite itself.
Perhaps if we speak with our feet and leave enough reviews about rowdy campsites Campsite owners would get the hint. Also its not just adults who want peace and quiet too - my children when asked will always say they want a campsite that is quiet at night so they can sleep!

Katieep, I could not agree more!
Any campsite owner, who after all are reliant on repeat business and recommendations too, should make it their business to regularly check that everyone is happy with their stay, and it needs to be made clear in no uncertain terms what the rules are about pitching, noise etc. and also that every customer is made aware that they can approach the campsite owner with any queries or concerns, or indeed complaints.
Good reviews and recommendations in the long term should be worth far more than the few quid paid by (thankfully) the minority of rowdy and inconsiderate campers.
That said, there are always going to be incidents and situations that need to be brought to the campsite owner or warden's attention, they can't be in all places at once, and unless they are told they can't do anything about it, especially in the case of noise, the pitching too close issue/blocking access should be picked up on pretty much straight away.
I agree that we should all leave reviews about rowdy campsites and owners who refuse to enforce their own rules.
I am immediately put off any site where the reviews mention a few times noise and disruption by others, and I am sure I am not the only one!
Jane.

We were camping last week and it was absolutely great. Mostly one or two nighters, Belgians, Germans, Dutch and even a party of French students who were in another part of the site, but who were delightful and their teachers were so considerate. However, by the weekend the Brits turned up and yes you guessed it, the noise started. Screaming kids, loud talking after 11pm and music first thing in the morning. We left promptly even though we had paid up until the Sunday night!!
Not just the Brits though. Have a look at my review of Duinrell in the Netherlands - and all the offenders were German!
