Hello All
We are newbies to this site and camping in general. After all the new changes to school holidays not being approved and the price of holiday packages in general, we have decided to give camping a go. The brother-in-law and his family go all over the country and love it, so we thought we'd get in on it too.
We went along to Go Outdoors for a look at all the tents and equipment and decided something like the Hi Gear Kalahari 8 would be just the job for two fairly large adults and two big children. (7 & 11)
We were fortunate (I think) to find the exact same tent with porch, 2 carpets, footprint and just about everything we will need on ebay, so we have taken the plunge! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121147745189?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_1732wt_1200
We are just in the process of going looking to book our first trip and go through all the gear and have a practice pitch etc on the garden. We love going to Filey on day trips, so recommendations for nice campsites in that area would be great.
Wish us luck!
John & Claire
