hi nomadam
we have a 2 year old and obviously have to take all her things with us when we go camping even for a 2 night stay. although you have more children we seem to take enough stuff for 4 lol.
all i can offer advice wise is basically what we did.....
we have a roof bag(boxes are limited to what you can put in them shape wise, roof bars, you can get them for your focus i think you will need gutterless mounting ones if i remember rightly(but i may be wrong on that one).
for the tent furniture etc...we go for the ....if it wont fold....then its inflatable....mattress 1x double 2 x single for extra height.,sofa(yes we have one and its so comfy),we have garden folding chairs,a travel cot, a folding kitchen with cupboard, folding table, a twin hob cartridge stove(aerosol size ones),water carrier, all this and a kampa croyde 6 tent, carpet, vestibule, and footprint, plus 2 adults, 1 2 year old, and all our clothes and bedding. in a scenic !....your focus maybe becomeing a little small for the camping life :(
hope this helps:)
