After the great tent debacle (we're on tent number four after manufacturing problems with the previous 3), me being made redundant two weeks ago, rain forecast for our pitching time tomorrow and now the car breaking down, we're beginning to think all the signs are telling us not to go on our holiday tomorrow.

However.......FIL has come to the rescue and loaned us their Land Rover for two weeks (a lovely brand new Discovery )....the trailer is packed and we're saying b*lls to it and heading off at 3am tomorrow morning anyway!!!

Cornwall here we come......only hope we don't live to regret it

your looking at the wrong signs! You F I L obviously trust you enough to let you use his car. It's family that matters anything else will be surmountable. Go and enjoy your holiday. Memories can't be bought and sold. When you get back you will be in a better frame of mind to face future problems and worries. P.S Hope the job situation sorts it self out asap.

We had this in April for Easter! Weather turned awful, had to postpone for a day due to me contracting flu, had to cancel the kennel as dog came down with bad stomach (only book him in once a year so kids can go anywhere when away, swimming etc). Should've listened!! Daughter got an ear infection, broke both inflatable sofas, youngest daughter threw up, electric hook up broke! Never again in those temperatures! Not to mention the bag of wee in the car!!

Thanks for the encouragement everybody! We went with it in the end and drove down yesterday. We pitched in torrential rain and wind which managed to rip one if the guys off but it's nothing that isn't fixable. And we realised sat in the sunshine in the beach today that it was definitely the right decision 😊 14 more days of this and we'll be totally chilled and ready to face the world again. Anyway here's a quick piccie from this morning......
