Just out of curiosity, your user name, is it from the classic electronic "moog" keyboard.....

I had 70's parenting, if we went to a pub I had to sit outside with my brother. We were given a bottle of coke and bag of crisps whilst my parents sat inside and enjoyed the warm comfort of a roaring fire. Oh those were the days..

We certainly had one, but ours was a Morris Marina. I don't think Austin made one.

You are right of course, I think I'm getting my Marinas and Allegros mixed up.  But a 70s parent could fit 3 kids and enough kit for a week's holiday into one without too much trouble, did they teach packing skills in 50s and 60s schools do you think? 

We also used to share a damp face cloth stored in a plastic bag because wipes hadn't been invented.

The other thing about taking a child into a 70s pub is that they disappeared in a cloud of smoke!
