Oh me too, I pack loads of blankets -nothing worse than being cold at night! Having said that, I will definitely try and size down but still not compromising on blankets!
What's bothering me is that I'm going to need more. Stuff for 3 nights a couple of hours away from home than I did for a week in France! It's then cold nights so I will need then mats for the bedrooms and the blankets and the hot water bottles. And the wellies too. I don't know how anyone does winter camping, I'd need so many clothes!
My name is Fiona and I am an over-packer Shoes, blankets, tables, plates, clothes, stuff for the kids to do and we don't mention how many tools the hubby takes even when we travel in the newer car. He used to take a full socket set, gasket set and goodness only knows what else as I'm not into engines of cars!
We're away at the weekend (only 6 miles away), but one of our friends is borrowing a transit sized van from work to take all our stuff, but we are taking the big gazebo which we don't normally.
I used to take 'everything' and 3 spares, but I slimmed the kit down because it was too much PIA packing and unpacking it all. Bone idle camper need little.
You need at least 3 of everything 1 to use and 2 spares, then the what ifs yes I definitely take to much stuff the tent got bigger, the car got bigger, the ttrailer got bigger, the roof box grew then we upgraded to a caravan at this rate I need a 40ft American motorhome

Lol. I know the feeling Karen has the best intentions in reducing the load. Yet France this year for just 2 of us involved an estate car and roofbox Full.
