Hi, my family and I have just returned from our first camping trip and loved it apart from the weather last night and this morning. We hurriedly packed our tent in the pouring rain and it was soaking wet. Any ideas how to dry it with no room indoors and no garage. It's a 5 man tunnel tent so it's rather large. Thank you
It's meant to be nice on Monday. I would pitch it again in a local park if no garden and let it dry that way. Pain I know but better than a mouldy tent
I feel for you! More often than not, we've come home with a wet 6 berth poly-cotton tunnel tent. Very heavy and too much of a squeeze to pitch it in the garden.
We peg the footprint sheet out under the washing line, lump the tent onto it where its clean, then peg one side of the tent at a time to the washing line, rotating it as it dries until its all done.
Better luck next time. Glad you enjoyed your first trip up to the pack-up.
we currently are drying our canvas tent in the conservatory- draped over chairs, tables etc, keep turning then hopefully when sun comes out tomorrow, she'll get put over the washing line
Got the tent up in the garden just and it starts spitting, thanks for the tips everyone. Hopefully have better luck next time and be better prepared as it was a very last minute decision and didn't even have a tent until the morning of our trip. Still can't find any info on the tent we have.
We put ours in my mam's garage when we got home yesterday as we don't have a garage or a big enough garden. A couple of years ago when we came home with a wet tent we just moved all the furnitue to the edge of the living room, piled the tent in the middle of the room, put the heating on and went out!

Tents are heavily branded products, the manufacturers want you put up their tent properly at the camp-site and for other campers to see and desire it. All kinds of information will be printed on the flysheet by the door to sell your tent to the unwary.
My new Vango has three sheets of A4 fabric printed with fire and CO2 safety information etc, if it rains I might get to read it all one day.
The modern tent bag is printed with specifications as is the card in a plastic window used to sell it.
Once you know the brand and name of your tent look it up in the reviews here, or even write your own review.
We once dried our Norfolk Lake in the in-laws lounge while they were on holiday This year we stretched it out on the driveway (on top of a platic sheet to protect it from any oil) it dried well being turned every hour or so. It is a pain but far better than having a musty tent next time out.
