Over the past few months my camping kit has grown massively, so much I have had to buy a trailer. Many of my purchases have been secondhand from E-bay. I have just won a 4week old outwell castor light still in the box for £1.04, I have to collect it from the seller but I feel like I have stolen it from him at this price. My max bid was £5 do you think I should offer him a bit more or should I just pay the winning price?

I think that it's entirely up to you. If he didn't put a reserve price on it he must have known that there was a risk of it only going for a pound or so. See how you feel when you meet the seller...

Nope, just pay what you bid. They knew the risk of it going cheap when they put it on Ebay so since they haven't pulled out of the sale they are obviously okay with the price (though maybe not as happy about it as you are )

Always pay the winning price. If an item is sold on eBay then the seller knows the risks. If I sell on ebay I either set a reserve or higher starting price if I'm not prepared to let it go cheap.

I'd say go for it and pay what you won it for.

Friends of mine won a sofa bed for the starting bid of 99p. When they picked it up they gave the bloke £1 and he scrambled about to find them a penny :-O lol

We won a 20 vol Children's Britannica for 99p hubby gave them a tenner when we picked it up as he couldn't cope with only paying 99p

I once won a bundle of kids clothes on ebay. The seller charged me €10 postage and I bought the clothes for €0.99
Then on delivery, I noticed she had been charged €12 for postage so I felt bad and posted her a fiver which she posted back to me with a lovely note telling me I had won the auction fair and square and to spend the money on my son!

   I would feel rotten giving him £1.04, I would offer £5 but know for certain my hubby would only pay the £1.04 but he's a tight get.

I always get cross when someone on TV says that they got something from a charity shop for 50p and then sold it for squillions, they are hoping you will say well done.

I feel, they give a good percentage of their receipt back to the charity. I know I would.

Many years ago my OH went to look at a trailer tent which was advertised at £250 ono. It was in lovely condition and he offered the full £250 because he thought it was worth it. The seller was so pleased he hadn't made a silly offer as some others had made, that he gave us loads of stuff for free. Cooker, travel cot, gas lamp etc. So sometimes it definitely pays to be fair.

I sold an exercise bike a few years back and it went for 99p, but the man gave me £10 which was very nice as I wasn't expecting it.

Freecycle is worse! I "won" a tent up for offer, expecting it to be old and beaten up - It was pristine...

Freecycle rules = no money to change hands.

I mentioned that I felt mean, but she said that offered it freely & was glad someone was going to get use out of it.
