The serenity double is an enormous pack size. We went for 2 singles instead.

Food for thought - are there clips or something you can get to join 2 singles to 1 double do you know, Shd76? From the same website they have 7cm Outwell singles but 2 of them are narrower than the double so might just bite the bullet on the massive pack size.

Wonder if I can flog all the airbeds on local fb selling groups to offset a few quid of getting us all nice new SIM's would be £105, which is what I paid for the tent , getting expensive this camping lark!

You won't need thick SIMs for the kids 3cm will be fine for them also they will only need 3/4 lengths, maybe save a bit of money and definitely some space,

The £13 basic SIMS are perfectly fine for kids, they don't need as much padding as us old crocks. Get full lngth ones though, more versatile as the kids grow.

You can get kits to join SIMs, yes, but a loop of webbing in a figure of 8 plus a buckle is fine...you'll need two, one each for top and bottom.
