The retailer is insistent that they can't do anything until it's been back to Vango. Which is joke on a tent that's less then 28 days old and when I ssked if Vango found it faulty would I be offered a full refund. The responses wss not favorable.

They are in violation of the sales of goods act, contact trading standards.
The below is in regards to when an item is over 28 days old-
A Retailer is entitled to a reasonable amount of time [generally approx 28 day]to inspect the product and solve any manufacturing faults. In this case the retailer is using Vango to do either [they could of choosen any company to do this]. They can also take a reasonable amount of time to disprove that it is a manufacturing fault and was in fact damaged by the consumer [not suggesting in this case]
whether it is repair replace or refund. It is NOT the Consumers choice on which method the retailer chooses
"You can ask the retailer to do either, but it can normally choose to do whichever would be cheapest."
So the retailer is perfectly in the right to do what they are doing.

sadly the tent was only 22 days old when u contacted the retailer
