What excites me? Joe Hart covered in nutella would be a good start.
In terms of camping, what I like is the fact that because our set up is all our own, once it's unpacked and pitched, we already feel at home the way you do when you go on holiday to a place you know and love. Going on holiday to a new place is always exciting but there can be a bit of apprehension that the accommodation will be ok. Camping means I take my own accommodation so I know it's ok, but I can be in a new and exciting place at the same time. Then there's all the little routines and rituals that say 'I'm on my holidays' like opening the wine at 4 in the afternoon!

The planning, the list making (I love lists) searching the Internet for all of the visitor attactions in the area. Setting everything in the tent in its place, having a tidy tent (my house is never tidy), cooking and eating outdoors, not having to worry about anything. All of it really except the packing up and coming home.

Knowing I have a very understanding husband who doesn't mind me going away on my own whilst he looks after our boys.
Just being able to get away and have some alone time is sheer bliss!

Ditto to a lot of the above - clean facilities, quiet campsite, our tent (like someone above said it's like taking your own cottage with you once you're pitched and settled) and plenty of great walks and places to go when you're there. There's also the food (and drink) - it just somehow tastes better. There's also the chill factor, do as you want when you want ... that's if you want to do anything at all!
Just last week we were at Fforest Fields and some nights the skies were clear - I have never seen so many stars in all my life (and I love stars) - I just stood there looking from just outside our tent........ awesome! Then when I went to the loo or washed up I could look again and again.
Don't like to stay on site during the day (I know some people do) but nice and easy does it. No hassle or clock watching, but love to see all the great things the area has to offer. Yes, done South of France loads of times, and there are fantastic sights to see there too. This time, I climbed a mountain (nearly 2), walked underneath 2 waterfalls, saw red kites flying, saw beautiful resevoirs that are gobsmacking plus loads more - just to return back home to our tent and sleep well!
