I purchased a table top fridge just recently. It runs silently unlike the coolers which sound like Concord on take-off. It takes up space in the car but no more than the Coleman Extreme which we used to use.
its got a proper compressor motor in the back like your fridge at home and it gets down to temperature really quickly.
folks will tell you that fridges dont like being moved, iv had mine for 2 years now and its been bumped about, switched on, switched off, stored and run etc etc - prbably everything that you shouldnt do with a fridge and it runs fine and for 59.95, if it lasts a cpl years then conks out well ill still be happy with it!. a bag of ice a day is 1.00 plus cost of getting to shop n back, so with the added convenience id say the argos fridge is a great buy!.

Family I got friendly with on my main holiday had a full sized under counter fridge in his tent and had no problem with it...
Mum Dad and three kids camping for 3 weeks at a campsite 14 miles down a single track road would have meant a round trip of at least 28 miles to top up on supplies...So they took everything(food wise) with them...and topped up on milk etc at the little shop onsite that sold the basics...

Hi green rover.
I decided that even though Table Top/under Counter fridges are relatively cheap to buy at around £80 they would still be to big for our needs.
Back in February I bought a Mobicool C40 which is a proper compressor fridge, but designed for mobile/camping use.
At 40lts it is as big as we would ever need, and is 240v mains only.
Unfortunately the Mobicool C40 is not available in the UK, although the more expensive B40 is.
I got the Mobicool C40 from Obelink in Holland for £139 which included delivery to the UK.
For the 1000 mile journey to our campsite in South East France the Mobicool C40 get used as a storage box for my 10" TV (CRT!) and 2 BulkHead 150watt! Camping lanterns.
I have the same one as Shaun and Hanka (mines from Argos too) think I paid 69.99 for mine.
Got a white table from GO 19.99 to sit ours on, it doesn't fill the table completely leaving enough space to store spare drinks/can etc before going in the fridge when we used it with the Montana it went in the porch bit with the mosi net zipped up.
Was very grateful to that mosi net while on holiday this year in France, dog woke me up whining about something, only to find him sitting there looking at a mouse climbing up the mosi net
thanks green rover. you wont go far wrong with the table top fridge , mine even has a little freezer compartment in it .
