It looks like due to wifes Illness we will have to sell our camping gear, all the more frustrating as the tent has only had one outing and 90% of the stuff is brand new, but we are wondering if ebay is preferable to the for sale section here? Harvey

Sorry to hear about your wife's illness and that you may have to give up camping.

As for where to advertise your gear, my personal preference would be ebay, though tbh I wouldn't try selling it just yet. If it's not taking up space and you can wait for a while then hang on till next spring, when the new camping season starts you'll get more for it then than you would if you try selling it now.

I'm with Tigermouse - if you can afford to wait until the spring then I'm sure you will get better prices for your tent and equipment. Good photos always help.

I don't know your circumstances - nor do you need to reveal them - but waiting a while, if you have room for storage etc, may mean that selling is not the only option?

I would also like to wish you and your wife all the strength and support you need.

MS is such an unpredictable condition isn't it? My sister has it, as did my grandmother, so I'm aware of some challenges you and your wife face. I hope her current situation eases soon. Thank you for sharing.

It`s not that she`s just been diagnosed ,she was diagnosed in 1999 but this year it`s got a lot worse,thanks for the well wishes everyone

Really sorry to hear that, I would say probably ebay is your best bet, but preloved does seem to be very poplular for camping gear.

I'm sure you have thought it through pretty well, but maybe there is an alternative setup out there that may be easier for you to put up on your own or even the dreaded caravan.
