Only 3 more days before I can go back to the Lake District for my first ever winter camp.

Hopefully, no repeat of my embarrassing panic during the deluge last October17

You can probably camp when ever with a electric hook. You can have a heater and s kettle in the tent. Tho thats one of my favourite things to do at 4 in morning if i wake up. I just fill my mug up and take it back to bed.

i'm gutted - took plunge at end of last year and bought an ehu and basic gear to go with it - heaters - oil and fan plus kettle - with a view to camping this week and easter only to go and rupture my bicep.
only joy is you guys planning - some great photos and descriptions of trips

keep up the posting

Oh yes (although Ive squeezed in a crafty one all ready!!) but definetly looking forward to some warmer weather and some longer evenings.

Went on a walk today and the snow drops are out in force and even saw a couple of daffodils braving it - The lovely spring scene was mildly spoilt by the wind and driving hail in my face but soon.........

For those of you contemplating it I say just go for it. We've just got back from 3 nights under canvas; our first winter camp and it was amazing... definitely scratched the itch. We had no EHU but we all wore thermals under fleece hooded onesies, two pairs of socks and a woollen / fleece hat to bed. I bought cheap (£8) sleeping bags as extras which adds a season or two and took hot water bottles. My top tips; buy a doormat for inside the tent so the muddy boots don't plaster the tent and take loads of bin bags to sit / put kit on outside and wet wipes to clean everything with.
