Having bought gazebos in the past (both real cheapos and medium priced ones), they have always failed in many ways to meet my expectations. They have not been waterproof or have leaked and have not withstood windy conditions.
I am now looking to invest in something that will better meet the requirements. I am looking for something that will be a communal area when camping in a small group, to provide storage, cooking and shelter. I want it to be waterproof and to be able to cope with windy conditions.
I have been looking around at what is available. The coleman event shelter was my first obvious choice. It is quite expensive with extra charges for the side walls. There are also day tents offered by Vango and other good tent manufacturers. Then I saw this Quesha living space available at Decathlon.
It seems like good value for money compared to what else I have seen.
I wondered if anyone has one of these? I would also value your opinions on whether this will suit my needs and will happily look at any other recommendations.
Few sites we have been on, say no Gazebos, cant see why myself. We have cheap one for garden, but no good in bad weather. We decided on porch for our tent but no good for groups, good luck
Last time I used a gazebo the wind got up at night & the thing took off in one piece & ended up about 10yds away as did several others, all with poles bent beyond repair, it was guyed down but the fixings broke, I can see why campsites don't like them. I can't see how even the more expensive gazebo type structures can be made strong enough to resist anything more than moderate wind.
I've been using a Sunncamp Day Room for about 12 years at an annual event. I use it to house a display & as living quarters. It's been great with non of the issues reported in the reviews here. It's stood up to some strong winds but not something I'd want up in a real hoolie.
I've also got a Coleman Shelter for the same event for socialising on cooler evenings. We get around 20 people in it. Had a pole spring break & a connector crack which I repaired with a cable tie. Again wouldn't want it up in a real hoolie but not as fragile as regular budget gazebo.
As above with a Sunncamp day room, we bought ours mint second hand off ebay for £40 pick up only a few years ago.
We have used at least 3 pitches per year for gatherings or even in the garden on occasion.
On a couple of sites that banned Gazebo's, I explained this was a day tent and was fit for the purpose of camping on both occasions we were allowed once the owners have seen it pitched....both impressed.
We had this pitched during the Jubilee weekend with bits of furniture stoves etc we manged to get 4 adults and two children in very bad weather.
I would say it is very robust and well made, judging by the reviews maybe a bad batch got through QC checks, I couldn't recommend this tent more.

Which Coleman event shelter are you after? I have the smaller one 12 x 12, paid £109 for it last season. The doors and walls are currently on reduced at GO I looked at the door section £20.
we looked at getting a day tent when our now 2 year old started walking to get the kitchen stuff out of the tent completley when we had no porch but instead after much consideration we went for a tent with enclosed porch, kampa croyde 6 with vestibule, purely because after reading up on different sites we would go to if money was no object.......you will be charged for an extra tent when you take an event shelter /tent as they are called.however the thought of an event shelter has not left my mind, i think its a great idea myself.......just my useless bit of input lol :)
We have a Khyam Day Shelter 300, which we used once and is now for sale as we didnt make good use of it. Lovely little day tent, we just dont need one :)

Did you have to pay another nightly pitch fee when you said it was a day tent?
