I thought once we had the 5m bell tent that would be it for me, no more lusting after another tent . But as we have discovered the 5m is so tall it's impossible to heat with a fan heater in sub zero temps so currently use the cosy 4m which heats up very quick but space once the beds are made is very limited.
During last weekend I decided to suggest a 4 man pyramid tent to replace the 4m bell, being as it is for our short breaks and my breaks with just the girls it would have allowed more useable space than the 4m but we would have to sleep 5 across 4 SIMs when hubby was with us.
As I was using obelink website to show him what I was talking about he then suggested getting the 6 person pyramid to replace the 5m Bell tent .
He's now so excited about getting a pyramid tent that he's rushing me to buy one before the Big Camp next month!
Worse still I'm now left thinking that a 6 person pyramid may be the only tent that we need (other than our little garden camp inflatable)
I need reassurance here, am I going to settle once we have a pyramid or am I going to be wanting something else? and no a Karsten isn't something that interests hubby (showed him one just to see his reaction) and the price tag scares me.

Tynx, just a word of caution. Now you and I know how quick the Bells are to put up and with the exception of some inflatables nothing is going to beat them. I had set my heart on getting the palomas 6 next its a fantastic looking tent but after reading the pitching info I started to go off the idea. Apart from the extra poles involved have you noticed just how many guying points there are. You may be one of those people who likes pitching tents but for me I just want to get it pitched as quick as poss and get on with my break. I fully understand the heating issue in the Bell in cold weather, but as I wont consider camping for another couple of weeks yet its not really an issue for us. For us the next step has to be inflatable, but that's mainly for health and age issues. Geoff
Tynx I feel your pain, we have a 5m bell and love it but the space just doesn't work for us. We've bought a secondhand pyramid from eBay and we're going to try it out this weekend. The only problem is that I've got a few niggling worries about the pyramid - its got a separate groundsheet (I'm worried we're going to wake up to a river in the bedroom) and it's got a bit of an old canvas smell to it!! I've been spoilt with the brand new bell so downgrading is proving quite hard. I've got my heart set on a Palamos but I think the hubby would actually kill me if I bought another tent. You've done the hard part by convincing the Mr!!
Yes Geoff the extra guys are only a small niggle for us. My main concern with the bell tents are how long before the children out grow it, as in need a separate bedroom to us?
ParisSnowdrop, you have no need for concern with a separate ground sheet, we had an old frame tent a couple of years ago and used a quality tarp big enough to cover the whole footprint, once placed on top of the mud flaps inside the tent it was a good seal and the inner tents have a sewn in groundsheet. If you don't mind me asking, why was the bell tent not working for you? be interesting to hear how you get on with the Pyramid.
Tynx, have you considered a set up like this? I saw it in the tent reviews on here, Bell tent Emperor. If you look at the pics, she has attached her bell to it. Its a bit pricey thou but super impressive.
Once you buy two inner tents and delivery for that it's over £1,000 , nice but well over my budget.
The Hypercamp Palamos 6 is only £545 delivered (but then I am tempted to buy a couple of tent wings and tarp to at £120 extra), the tent I was looking at on Marktplaats was 250 euros delivered but they want bank transfer as payment and only been a member for a couple of weeks so not confident enough to buy it .

Will they not consider PAYPAL ? Shame because if you decided it did not meet your needs I am pretty sure you'd be Ble tomsell and get your money back.

they did state they didn't accept paypal only bank transfer so hubby is in agreement that we shouldn't risk it and if we have to settle for paying full price for a new one however he doesn't want the extra canopies so won't be able to sneak those in.
