Got back at the weekend from 5 nights away with our new tent..

Arrived on Monday morning at Orchard Farm, Hunmanby ( excellent site)
Lovely sunny weather on arrival,

The other Half is 6 months pregnant and with a 3 year old to entertain I was pretty much left to myself to pitch the new tent a calisto 500.... 1st time pitch with no trial run before...

It took around 15 mins to put the tent up and a further 15 to put the porch on.. the steel pole, ring and pin system on the Vango tents is excellent..

Was really impressed with the layout and size of the tent. We have the vango Maritsa 700 as our main tent which is a massive tent but found this tent really comfortable and useable..

We had a mixed bag of weather sun, light rain, heavy rain and a thunder storm.. the tent stood up to it all no leaks anywhere...

The tent came down pretty easily too.. everything back in the bags no problem..

Would highly recommend this tent ... and the site too...

Yeah can't wait for our next outing.. not long now..

Was going to take our maritsa 700 next time as were going for 9 days but after using this and with the good lady being around 7 months pregnant when we go I think we will manage with this one.

Nice tent. That was one of the 1st tents we looked at and thought it a much better tent than the Icarus which seemed more popular at the time. But the Calisto with its steel poles seemed far superior to me. Im sure it will give you good service and more confidence in windy conditions. Enjoy. Geoff

That looks great!

We too have the Maritsa 700 but I've literally JUST bought an Isis 600 for a weekend tent.
I decided not to go for steel poles for the quick tent, for weight and speed reasons. But they definitely don't look as sturdy as the steel ones.

RachIN76.. we had looked at other tents but decided the steel pole system was worth the extra weight.. and the pitching time was super fast.. a lot faster than I thought it would be.. I think this was down to having put the Maritsa up on quite a few occasions and it being the same system....

Mandi..

It pretty easy to put up..

I put a few pegs in the rear just to stop it moving around.. the ring /pin system is pretty good.. it has a fixed pin on one side and an adjustable strap pin on the other.. starting at the back put the poles through and put the fixed pins side in first then loosen the adjustable strap pins and put that in and tighten up.. then repeat going forwards..
allow each arch of poles to lay on top of each other then when all in place just pull the front poles up and walk the tent forward..

I would only put a couple of the main tents front guy ropes in to start with as they need adjusting once the porch is in palce...

The porch is pretty much the same to put up.. I put the back poles through again then the front.. I then hooked the securing straps to the center tent poles and adjusted the front porch till it was aligned then fastened it all down..

Hope that makes a sense and helps
