I've just ordered a 7m bell tent from Boutique Camping and also purchased the bamboo centre pole as I do not trust the metal one that it comes with. Has anybody else experienced the bamboo centre pole? It comes in 1 piece.....which for the 7m Bell tent is 4m long, so it will be a challenge on the top of my car......
I'm not bothered with the length as we have a pretty large trailer so there will be no overhang from the roof rack when driving and it will go down the side of the trailer.
I know this is an old thread, but did you get the bamboo pole & if so, how did you get on with it?
We have to replace our metal pole, as it completely bent in half within 10 minutes of the tent being up back in August.

Sorry to hear this happened, we always tie 2 king poles to the main pole in windy conditions as a precaution. As a bamboo pole is hollow I would be tempted to try and fit the original steel pole down the middle of it to add strength.
Thanks Tynxuk. Thankfully one of the campsite maintenance staff found us a scaffold pole to slide our bent pole into for the duration of our stay there.
We replaced our 3.5 metre Tipi pole with wooden pole in two sections as you can see in the pic its quite substantial.
Bamboo should be really good and if it is to big you might be able to get a feral made.
We ended up not using the bamboo Pole, but we also purchased the same handmade wooden pole as in the photo of the previous post. It is solid as a rock and really pleased with it. I think I paid around £130 posted for it.
