Got back last weekend from 9 nights near Lake Bala. My first trip in my Gaudeloupe and it was all brilliant. I caravanned for the past 4 years but i've got to say i was so glad to be back to tenting again. The only downside is the amount of stuff that i had to shoe horn into the car. Bearing in mind i have a mondeo estate and it's just myself and the two dogs, i had back seat full to nearly ceiling height, front seat/footwell full, roof box full and even had to put a couple of bits in the back with the dogs. Decided this was a bit of a pain as it was so time comsuming plus i was packing up in the rain and i imagine i would have found it easier to just 'throw' everything in a trailer. So have now invested in a Brenderup 1150s with side extensions and i've got to say it's pretty cavernous and i don't see any problem with fitting everything in for my next trip in a couple of weeks. They are really substantial trailers and absolutely no regrets about my choice which i have to say was partly based on reading postings from DK168 so she may have to take some of the blame for helping spend my cash!
Joking aside, one of the reasons why I am not going to get a trailer tent yet is because I do not want to part with my Brenderup 1150s, as it tows like a dream, and I have nothing bad to say about it.
Enjoy your new trailer, and don't blame me when you spend more money on camping gear to fill it up!

I agree with you, towed it from Winchester back home (about an hour) and didn't even know it was there. But that is the trouble with the extra space, already thinking 'i should have enough room in here for a bigger tent'.
I looked at a Raclet Solena trailer tent when i sold my caravan but i have to be honest and obviously this is only my personal opinion but i just wasn't that impressed. I don't know if it was because i was used to my caravan being more solid as such but the build quality wasn't as good as i'd expected. Quite happy now with both guadeloupe tent and brenderup trailer so will be sticking with this now.
I am going to the tent show at Wokingham, and hope to see a Raclet Moovea or Solena (prefer the Moovea).
In the meantime, I shall lust after the ESVO Bedouin 340 - if my body can cope with tenting in a few more years, then I may get one.

I second the views on the brenderup.. I just wish I had gone with the side extensions ;)
I believe they can be retro-fitted.

When I was looking to get a trailer, my first choice was a Ifor Williams P4, as I read that their trailers are built to last.
However, they stopped making the ABS lid or something like that, so I had to look elsewhere.

I second DK168 i also think you can get the side extensions fitted retrospectively. Check with your nearest dealer or you could quite well be able to order them and fit yourself, i would think that it's not too difficult looking at them. Good luck.
Just checked out the Beduin 340 tent, never seen that one before, you are leading me into temptation. !!
Sorry, don't mean to hijack your thread but having read this post ....
