I am just furious! I ordered a 6m bell tent and the inner lining from Boutique Camping over a month ago. They promised it would be delivered by last Friday and when I rang to follow this up I was informed they were having trouble with their shipping company. I was surprised I had had to ring them and nobody had let me know of this problem. I explained I needed the tent by this weekend and after speaking to A nice giy called Oli he reassured me it would be delivered by 12pm today as we were meant to be going away today. He even said if our tent was not in their warehouse they would ship me a 5m bell tent to borrow for our camping weekend. Not really what I wanted but better than nothing...
So here we are on the Friday at 2pm and still no tent. So yet again I rang boutique camping and spoke to oil who informed me out tent wAs still in their warehouse. I was so so cross I asked to speak to the boss and he told me he was. I told him it really wasn't good enough we were meant to be leaving for our family camping weekend right now and our tent he had promised had not arrived. Oli said they would ship it to me for tomorrow. To late we have missed our holiday, the kids are absolutely devastated. I got a 'sorry' of Oli and I even had to insist I was not going to pay for delivered after their massive cockup as there was no offer . Not once did they ring to tell me we would not have a tent for the weekend we booked months ago. They promised us a tent. I have spent over £700 of hard earned savings with this company . Seriously disappointed. I've promised the kids they can sleep in the garden over weekend...if the tent arrives...boutique camping by name but certainly not boutique service...
really feel for you, sounds like very poor service and feel ever worse for your children :( wish u the best with them from now on though. such a shame when companies act with such poor customer service.

I work in the caravan industry and due dates are always not to be trusted!
I doubt if you tried on the compo side you would get anything but I would seriously consider asking for some sort of goodwill gesture of vouchers or something in a little freebie ? Maybe they could sort something for the kids?

Hopefully somewhere for a weekend in Sept
Thanks guys, its good to hear its not just me feeling really let down. When I tucked the kids into bed tonight my 7yr old son said 'I should be sleeping in our new tent mummy' maybe I may email Oli that quote. After a little re search I have found out Oli is the owner of the company I'm still feeling so cross with the fact they have ruined our first family camping trip.... Anyway I appreciate your replies thankyou I will hopefully have cooled down tomorrow!
We ordered a 7m Bell, carpet and inner tent from Boutique camping a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully we were not camping this weekend, but when I completed the order of the tent, the delivery date suddenly changed to a later one. Suffered similar non responsive emails, resorted to daily calls and probably became a pain in the ar*e to them, but received all of our items on Friday.
Sorry to hear about your experience and hope you get to go camping soon.
There are plenty of outfits selling bell tents - cancel the order and go to one of them. I'd also be pointing out to Oli that you're not intending to keep quiet about the affair as they seem to have done nothing to make up for their lack or service.
