Hi only second time we have used this tent and went away weekend gone. as everyone knows we have had awful weather!.
First night woke up to dripping and a soaking wet sleeping bag. I was soaked and had to get a towel and lie in it!!! From then on the whole of the tent started dripping on us!!! I've had many tents and this is by far the most expensive and the only one that's done this so i know its not condensation. Just wondering what my rights are for when i ring p j camping?
Hope i can get some advice
Complete replacement !
It may be a tent from a poor batch sadly it happens and the material has not had the correct proofing.
Good luck in getting it sorted and sorry to hear of your misfortune

Hopefully somewhere for a weekend in Sept
Ive phoned pj camping, and ive sent email with evidence. They said they will arrange a collection and get Kampa to repair or replace. so hopefully this will get sorted now Fingers crossed!!
Well today was told that the beam was broke and being replaced (didnt know this was broke!) and also it was being waterproofed. And i will have it 24th June. 1 i am not happy with repair and 2 not happy with the amount of time it takes. I have sent a letter of complaint asking for a full refund with the Sale of goods act, as it was not fit for purpose. I hope i get my refund as i havn't even been offered a replacement!
Unfortunately you cannot demand a full refund with the sales of goods act if you have owned the item longer than 1 month, after this time it is at the retailers discretion whether to Repair / Replace or Refund. They have a duty to make it right which is what they are doing.
The time it takes is a bit vague again with the SOGA, a reasonable amount of time can be up to 4-6 weeks depending

Has anyone else had this problem?
Sounds strange to me. What is a 'beam'? I don't know what this tent is made of but if it is canvas it should be naturally waterproof after the first weathering and if it is polyester the entire material should be manufactured waterproof...so how are they going to waterproof it short of a completely new fly?
Ah, I see it is an inflatable so I guess the 'Beam' is a main air pole? Not sure how that would make it leak though.
From what I've read i have up to 6 months to claim full refund. Also until i have used the tent, how do i know it is up to standard with the elements etc. And i didnt know also the beam was broke. Just knew that it was completely un waterproof! Im not holding my breath but im gonna try at least get a replacement and not a botched job. Totally put me off using it again and spoiling my holidays.
Its poly cotton not canvas, so yeh it should have been waterproof. Never had a tent leak like that, even a cheap one.
We had a Coleman once only leaked through the door zip but they refunded us even though it was 7 months later .like you I would want a replacement as you would be worried it was going to happen again.
I'd want a total replacement, like you I'd never be able to trust it again. I had the same issue with a Outwell tent, it put us off camping for 4 years. I mentioned it to the retailer, he gave us a can of seam sealant. It didn't solve the issue, so we were fed up with the tent and the weather. I didn't bother taking it back, thought I'd be fobbed of with it's "condensation". It wasn't as we sat there watching the rain coming through the seam. Wish I'd fought a little harder at the time.
I love camping though, so we're trying again. Hopefully we'll have better luck with a different brand of tent.Hope you get it sorted.
I would definitely request a replacement or even go for a different tent.
I don't know if this is true but it would have put me off accepting what you have been offered. My local retailer was telling me of a couple who bought a tent off ebay, found it leaked badly, then bought a load of fabsil from them. The tent was polyester and he said that the fabsil would sit on top of the material (rather than be absorbed like a cotton canvas )and would eventually wash/peel off. They still went ahead and bought it but i guess that was up to them.
