I like the sound of that Chairs game! My daughter used to have a very neat little game called 'Pass the Pigs' - don't know if they still make it*. You throw the two little pigs like you'd throw dice, and you keep score on a little jotter depending on how they land. The positions have daft names like 'leaning snouter' etc. Takes up next to no space - will fit in a pocket - and is a laugh.
*Edit: They do, £5.49 from Amazon. Other retailers are available!

The kids in our family love a game called headbandz. They wear a headband with a card attached and have to guess what they are by asking questions.
It causes much hilarity for our lot so not sure if it is good for calming them down but great fun for kids and adults alike.
