It's definitely warm, I slept like a baby in Wensleydale when the temp dropped well below freezing. The pack side is not small, however, it does have compression straps. It would be a bit big for backpacking though.
We have that double one too, moneypeni, well worth every single penny, love it! Pack size is an issue, but we split it in half and put each half in its own compression sack- much easier :)

We've just bought the vango Aurora, not used it yet but it feels lovely. You get what you pay for, buy a cheap sleeping bag and you'll probably be in for a chilly night.
