Well it`s nearly here, a week in Aberaeron for our first camping trip for 2 yrs. 2 weeks today we go and we can`t wait to get there. We have not been that far south in Wales before so are very much looking forward to exploring the area. And after being out all day we will have a selection of pubs and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk of our campsite. We have ehu booked as the Mrs likes her home comforts lol, except a Tv,we never take a tv with us camping. I just hope the weather is half decent, I don't mind cloudy and dull as long as it`s dry. Will post pics upon our return.
A lovely area, plenty to see. If you travel down as far as Cardigan and are interested in history, Castell Henllys is an Iron Age village reconstruction built on the actual footprint of the original buildings on the site. Long curving walk up to it, as it's on a hill, but very atmospheric.
------------- Always edited for sloppy typing - when I spot it!
Have a great time Martin, i have been camping there for the past 45 years,on the Aeron Coast site. You must have a day out in New Quay, when I was there last year there were about 15 dolphins playing in the harbour.
We intend attempting a walk to Newquay although my bad leg and the Mrs bad back might have something to say about it !!
Hedgehugger Castell Henllys sounds like the kind of place we will certainly visit, thanks for the heads up !!
We've stayed closer to Newquay and loved the whole are. Cwmtydu is beautiful as is the beach at Cei Bach just north of Newquay. The Aberystwyth Cliff Railway is worth a trip on for a great view on a clear day.
