It will fit in because you will buy a roof box.
Then you will buy more kit, because you now have room for it.
You will then upgrade/discover more "essentials/decide to go EHU.
Then you will get a bigger car, and still use the roofbox.
More kit will rapidly fill the extra space you now have available.
You will get a towbar fitted and buy a trailer... then put high sides on it... then a bigger trailer...
When you're at the point of considering getting an HGV licence so you can get a vehicle big enough to accommodate all the stuff you now "need", you will decide to "go back to basics" and ditch everything but a 4-man tent, the airbeds, sleeping bags and a small stove, and buy a Nissan Micra.
Lol that's what's happening to us! Now have a bigger tent and then hubby bought a camping cupboard.
We are going for three nights soon and him indoors wants to 'practice' packing the car as if we are going to France (trip coming soon). He is a worried man, so we are going to have to 1. Pack everything, and then 2. See if it fits and then 3. Take out the stuff we don't need for the weekend and stash it in our kitchen!
Trying not to have a trailer as we have towed before (sailing dinghy) and didn't like it. I told him it will just be minimal clothes each. He smiled.
------------- Tent + food + glass of cider + friends = perfection
May: Drybrook, FoD
August: La Garangeoire, Vendee
Plus a few local weekends
