I can totally see the storage aspect. I'm not a huge fan of roofboxes anyway but we've no towbar and no storage for a trailer so for us it's the only option.
I wonder if the light/bulky load is the key. Handiworld quote their 320 litre softbag as having a 50kg load capacity. Our roofbox has a 75kg capacity and the car rating is 100kg - that's box, load, and OEM bars fixed to the car's siderails, which are what bear the total load.
With this there's no load bearing on the roof panel itself. Maybe it's not an issue with lighter loads.

We also have the handi holdall with the two holdall bags to fit inside. Find it great, we put all the bedding including air beds in one bag and all our clothes in the other.
